Dennis Butler, previously last seen active musically in Antoninus, joins Steve Hochheiser, Caleb Quinn and Hellion vocalist Ann "Boleyn" Hull to perform several Détente 'reunion' shows in the US and Germany in July 2008. Although Mike Carlino was initially involved in the plans, in the end things didn't pan out. A collection of Détente and Catalepsy demos is released under the title "History I" in December of that year. In autumn 2009, Détente announced that Ann Boleyn was replaced by former Burn the Empire vocalist Tiina Teal. This line-up releases an album of new recordings, "Decline", in June 2010. Later that year the band members go their separate ways. During 2012, the song "Kill Rush" from "Decline" (written about conservative political radio/TV host Rush Limbaugh), attracts national controversy in the USA when prominent right-wing media outlet Fox News featured the song as an example of "liberal hate speech". In 2019, the band os offered a headlining spot for the Witches Hex Festival in Cleveland, Ohio, and plans to reunite, but unfortunately the festival is cancelled and the reunion falls through.
Steve Hochheiser releases an EP with a project named Falke, in August 2019. Although Caleb plays guitars on it, too, Steve says it's not really a Détente album.
